Maybe I like this song because it talks about dry eyes but I think more and more it reaches to me because no matter how things are going in life like if we are so exhausted or not in the mood to do anything if we go to God and praise him we are ok. He is there, we don't have to worry or fret. How cool is that?! He even loves us when we are brats and don't want to let him in! Man oh man, we don't deserve something that great, yet that's not an issue with him. We totally have to lay down ourselves despite how we feel because he is worthy of our praise, we take him for granted a lot of the time and he just waits for us to come back to him. He's the one who made us doesn't he deserve some kind of acknowledgement?

This week, I prayed, one time
My phone, it rang, I put You on the other line
And now my thoughts they drift around
My knees remain unacquainted with the ground
Unless my faith is put to the test and I am forced to bow
Although I'm in this flesh it doesn't mean You shouldn't have the best
from me, from me
Even when my eyes are dry
even when my soul is tired
even when my hands are heavy, I will lift them up to You
It's not about how I feel, oh Lord I am here for You
I exist for you
I close my eyes but all I see
Is a background of black, bouncy squiggly lines
And this week's mistakes coming back to mind but
I will lift my voice and make a joyful sound
Forget about me, I only get me down
Although I cannot see it doesn't mean I shouldn't sing to You, to You
You've given me Your life and have held mine together yet I find
Excuses to slouch in my pew
But when glory divine
Is sitting in my very presence, the least that I can do
Is give my all to You, give my all to You

Today has been a great day! I love tutoring especially for my little boy, he is so adorable. Today we were playing a matching game and he was like, "Does anyone have a chair?" the game was like bingo and you have to match the card with the picture. He would say, "does anyone have a flashlight to see in the dark?" Everyone in my class thinks my guy is the cutest and he is. We have to do a drama next week in class for a bunch of kindergarteners and first graders. I get to be a farmer lady who gives a bath to a pig, cow, and duck. It's going to be funny and way embarassing but I guess that's what you gotta do, huh?
Tomorrow I am going to the wrist surgeon to hopefully make an appointment for wrist surgery, I want to have it during Christmas break so if you can please pray that that spot will be available. It just works better that way so I don't have to do it during student teaching.

We got to go to a corn maze tonight with the youth, it was interesting. It was a big ol' maze and you couldn't really see what was ahead of you because it was dark. So my friends Alfred and Corlyne were there we were singing "the ants go marching one by one hoorah hoorah!" We were supposed to find six check points and get a card stamped, well thanks to Corlyne we got them all in order and stamped. Talk about blind faith and being able to trust your neighbor. Afterwards as a reward to ourselves we got Sonic, I love it there.

When we were in Ireland some of our friends introduced us to this band called, McFly. Well we absolutely loved them we would play a couple of their songs everyday in VBS, which now that I see the lyrics I am not quite sure that was a good thing or not but it was fun. Missy and I loved this song called Obviously:

Recently I've been,
Hopelessly reaching
Out for this girl,
Who's out of this world.
Believe me.

She's got a boyfriend
He drives me round the bend
Cos he's 23
He's in the marines
He'd kill me

But so many nights now
I find myself thinking about her now.

'Cause obviously,
She's out of my league
But how can I win
She keeps draggin' me in and
I know I never will be good enough for her.

No, no
Never will be good enough for her.

Gotta escape now
Get on a plane now. yeah
Off to L.A and that's where I'll stay, for two years.

I'll put it behind me(i'll put it behind me)
Go to a place where she cant find me. yeah.

'Cause obviously,
She's out of my league,
I'm wastin' my time
'Cause she'll never be mine
I know i never will be good enough for her.
No, no
Never will be good enough for her

She's outta my hands
And I never know where I stand
Cos I'm not good enough for her
He's good enough for her (for her, for her)

'Cause obviously,
She's out of my leeague,
I'm wastin' my time
'Cause she'll never be mine
I know i never will be good enough for her.
No, no
Never will be good enough for her

Everytime we were with the kids we played this song and each one of us would sing along. It was great. Not the fact that this guy is sad because he can't get the girl but it was a song that we will remember because of our experience in Ireland.

I got to teach my first science lesson today in first grade! I was so nervous!! As soon as I got to school the teacher was like "are you ready to teach?" I was like, "well good morning to you too!"
So we were talking about solids and liquids how they mix or don't. I asked if they had ever mixed anything they said only chocolate milk, well that is a great example so I was excited. The lesson went well I wasn't sure if I had good enough classroom mangagement or not but I figured it is science and they are observing things so naturally they are going to want to share. After we read a real life story about liquids we talked about oil spills and how to prevent them. They were really into the story, when I told them that oil spills can even come from their cars or lawn mowers they were like, "really?!" hee hee. When the lesson was done they all clapped for me, it was quite funny. The kids were like, "Good job Ms. C!" Well I know that I can do this now, I know it won't be great every time but we learn as we go right?
I went to see my arthritis doctor today, we had good news and bad news. Let's start with the good news, the good news is that my body is doing well (shoulders, fingers, knees, neck, ankles, toes, etc.) my doctor says that this is the best he has seen so far! Hooray!
Well I said there was bad news didn't I? Yeah well my eyes have been red, itching, burning, constantly for the last five months or more. I went to see an eye doctor but he said it was only allergies. So I was taking allergy medicine but it didn't work at all. I was so frustrated because I hate having red eyes. Anyways, my doctor said it was the arthritis that makes my eyes be that way, it's some type of disease that people who have arthritis sometimes get. So I get these special type of eye drops its a good thing we finally found out what it was or I would be blind! Other bad news is that my wrist needs surgery, there is a bump on the side of my wrist that has been getting bigger and hurts like crazy. He said that I should get the surgery as soon as possible. I am so not happy about that because the doctor he recommended is at St. Joe's and I went their for my hip surgery. The doctor wasn't bad it was the help after, but I guess this is a totally different situation. So I just got to trust that I will be taken care of.

I love hanging out with Allyson/Victoria she is so much fun. I love it that it doesn't even bother her that I am older and still she wants to hang out with her friends with me around. I have the best times with her. At group we were totally gansta she had a blue hat turned sideways with a blue shirt, and I wore a red bandana with a black shirt, we were up singing it was cool.
Last night we hung out after group, her, Josh, John, Santos, and my family. It was fun we had cookies, we got to share pictures from the quincaenera and also dive pictures, we had fun playing with Dreke, who could of asked for a better night?
I got my midterm back today, and I didn't do so bad!! I thought I was going to bomb it because it has been a long time since we had taking a written test. I got an 84%!! Woo hoo! It's not an A but I don't care because I passed and that's all that matters. Well it was a great learning experience so that matters more. Today I got to tutor for my kindergartner and we are working on sight words we played a memory game he had so much fun he was practically screaming, "I found another match!" He was so happy when he won and got to make a sentence out of the words, isn't that great?
One of my classmates brought in some home made caramel corn ohmygoodness it was awesome!! I sent a piece of paper around to have everybody sign up for snacks because it is just better coming to school and having snacks while you are working. :) I am selfish I know, but I got to be fed!!
It's almost the weekend, hooray!!! I have really been spoiled this week because of Fall break from school, I didn't intern or work with the Rusher boys, so I have been able to chill with Dreke when I am not in school, what a life, huh? I'm not complaining though we all need rest sometimes.

Characteristics of a Good Friend
The main quality to look for in a close friend is not how attractive, talented, wealthy, smart, influential, clever, or popular they are. it's how much they love and fear God. The person who will do what it takes to live in the perfect will of God is the kind of friend who imparts something of the goodness of the Lord in you every time you are with them.

Seven Signs of a Desirable Friend
1. Tell you the truth in love. "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (Proverbs 27:6)

2. Gives you sound advice. "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel" (Proverbs 27:9)

3.Refines you. "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17)

4. Helps you grow in wisdom. "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed" (Proverbs 13:20)

5. Stays close to you. "A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24)

6. Loves you and stands by you. "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity" (Proverbs 17:17)

7. Is a help in time of trouble. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Everyone Has a Purpose
Each one of us has a purpose in the Lord. But many of us don't realzed that. And when we don't have an accurate understanding of our identity, we either strive to be like someone else or something we're not. We compare ourselves to others and feel as though we always fall short. When we don't become who we think we're supposed to be it makes us critical of ourselves and our lives. It causes us to be insecure, oversensitive, judgemental, frustrated, and unfulfilled. We become self-absorbed, constantly having to think about ourselves and what we should be. In the extreme, it makes us tell lies about ourselves and become dishonest about who we really are. God doesn't want that for you. He wants you to have a clear vision of your life. He wants to reveal to you what your gifts and talents are and show you how to best develop them and use them for His glory.

Surrender Your Dreams
Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it- Matthew 16:25
That means if you want to have a life that is secure in the Lord, we have to let go of our plans and say, "Not my will, but yours be done, Lord." This is so hard to do because letting go of our dreams is the last thing we want to do. But we have to ask Him to take away the dreams in our heart that are not of Him and bring to pass the ones that are. You don't want to spend your life chasing after a dream that God will not bless. You will be constantly frustrated if you do, and it will never be realized. You want to be living the dreams God puts in your heart. Even if the dreams you have in your heart are from God, you will still have to surrender them. That's because God wants you clinging to Him and not to your dreams. He doesn't want you trying to make them happen. He wants you to trust Him, and He'll make them happen.
Lord, help make to understand the call You have on my life. Take away any discouragement I may feel and replace it with joyful anticipation of what you are going to do through me. Use me as your instrument to make a postive difference in the lives of those who you put in my path. Help me to rest in the confidence of knowing that your timing is perfect. I know that whatever you have called me to do , you will enable me to do it.

Wow, it's been awhile since I have been here! Life can get busy sometimes I guess. Well things are going pretty decently lately, I really can't complain about school. A couple of weeks ago we got to go to the Science Museum for class and play for about five hours, now what kind of class is that where you are allowed to have fun?! A great one, that's right!!! It was awesome and when I start teaching I think we will defineately go there for a field trip. So I said before that I am interning in a first grade classroom this semester at Canyon Rim, well these kids are so cute I had to write down some of the things they said:

Bradley- He was whispering something but I couldn't hear what he was saying so I had to bend down to hear these precious words, "Hi my friend!!" (aww isn't that sweet?!)

Zane- "Dayzja is going to chase me at lunch today Ms. C, I have to run away from so many girls!!" (as he rolls his eyes and sighs) I said, "you must have all the girls chasing you at recess". Then he says, "No, only two."

Jaren- He didn't get picked to be pointer at calendar so he went to his desk and said to me, "I never get picked for calendar." I told him one day he will so he shouldn't worry because everyone gets a turn. He started to tear up and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, I think I wanted to cry too. (But today he got picked for calendar so he was so happy!!)

Blayze- He was sniffling and coughing one day and he says, "I am sorry but I am so sick!"

Jaren- We were talking about Halloween and he says, "I don't believe in Halloween, I believe in Jesus. Jesus is a lot of fun, and when I go to heaven we are going to play."

There is just such a sweet innocence in these children that I love being around, I love hearing what they did this weekend or what they are going to be for Halloween. I love to hear them tell me about their families and friends. I even love it when they don't think they are good writers or spellers and I encourage them that they can do it just to see there eyes light up and how they will try so hard to work harder. No wonder Jesus loves the little children they are just so amazing.
